Grades 1-3 Field Trip

So, today we took our 1-3 grades to the fire station as well. They had a blast, just as their siblings did yesterday.

Kindergarten Graduation

Today my little students passed through the small gates of Kindergarten into the vast unknown (otherwise known as First Grade).

They were more than excited to begin this new step in their journey in life. And since preschool was with them so much this year, we decided to include her (far right).

They also had fun using one of their graduation gifts. Wait for it....BUBBLES!!

But, by far, their favorite moment (I think) was the surprise field trip to the Fire Station.

Mother's Day

Since Mother's Day wasn't that long ago (cough...last Sunday...cough), I decided to share with you the cards made in my little Kindergarten class, my own card, and my Mum's reaction to her surprise gift.

She got one other gift, but she picked that one out (an opal ring).

For my students cards, I helped them make Spiritual Bouquet cards. For those who might not know, it's a "bouquet" of prayers that you give someone. I wanted my Kindergartners to feel as if they could give their Mums gifts too.
There seems to be a running theme in all these cards. Can you spot it?

Card #1
Reads: I love you, Mom, because you give me Easter candy

Card #2
Reads:I love you bekus youLet me hav kane
Translation: I love you because you let me have candy

Card #3
Reads:I love you Mom because you cook my food

Did you catch the theme?
No?
It's all food based (two candy, and one just food). Tehe!

My own card
Reads: We cannot contain our love for you

Mum's surprise

That's all for now, folk! :D

Ramblings (aka old pics of the family)

So, I've been planning on giving ya'll a new post, but then my laptop crashed (thanks Windows 10). Tear, sigh.
However, I remembered I had a few pictures on my Mum's laptop of my family and thought I'd share them with you.

School Field Trip

So, last week the entire school went on a day long field trip.
I thought I'd share a few pictures with you all.

Me explaining things

(yes, I know, I look weird in the veil.
In my defense, I had to tie it that way or it kept falling off)

It Snowed!!!

In case some of you haven't seen/heard in the news, there's been some snow over here in the US of A. Not a ton, but enough to go sledding. My little students were VERY appreciative of this.

This and That (and...Ninjas?)

Yes, yes my title did say Ninjas. It caught your attention didn't it? Muhahahahaha! Nah, just kidding, there is a piece about ninjas in here. But you have to read all the way to the bottom to get it. Muhahahahaha!

Or you could just skip down to it.

Man! Thwarted by the scroll button!

So, it's Lent again. Kindergarten is doing their Lenten Mice. Each sacrifice puts a knot in the tail.

Lenten Mice

1-3 grades are doing the Road to Calvary.

Lenten Road

Our little pre-schooler is getting better at drawing day by day

And now the ninjas!

There I was, innocently thinking I was just going to school to teach for a half-day on Friday. Naively believing that all I had to consider that day was the project for Church History. But nooooo....NINJAS invaded our territory! It was a sneak attack. I didn't even see them at first, they so good at hiding. And imagine my surprise to find out that head ninja was one of my own students. He'd kept it hidden from me all this time!

(He's on the right)

Boston Tea Party

So this week grades 1-3 learned about the Boston Tea Party in their History class. Since we had a longer day Friday (today), we decided to give them a tea party as well.

The Set Up

Fruit Cup (I made them)

They were served tea

The Principal even came in

My little treat for the Party
(the tea cup wasn't mine, just embellishment)

All in all, the kids had a resounding, great time. :D

Belated Tidings of Gingerbread

So, I was going along my day and thinking "Man, it's been a while since I wrote anything in my blog". However, I don't have enough pics yet of my little students to give you. *sigh* Thus, I was stuck. I wanted to give you all something. What though???

Aha!

It hit me.

I hadn't shown any of you the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in our annual Gingerbread House Contest. We, and some family friends, started this....5? 6 years ago? I forget. But we kept it up. So, here's last year's (2016) winners.

A New Year!

So, it's here, 2017. Man, did time fly by me. My Mum warned me this would happen; that as I got older, the years would speed up. Yikes!

Anyhow, I missed giving you all my December school pics. Sorry. But here's a few from this month, January. :D

We had a Free Dress Day, so that's why some of the kids aren't in uniform.

1st grader gets 2nd
