School Jog-a-thon

So, every year, our school does a Jog-a-thon. We run a 1/4 mile track for one hour, to raise money. I thought you all might like to see a few pics of the students doing it.

Art Challenge - Ocobter

Phew, it took me forever to finish my half of the art challenge, which is why it's so late. But, I hope you like it.

October Highlights Be Here!

Hey, my peeps! Sorry it took me sooo long to get this out. Work has been busy, busy (but fun). However, I finally got a bit of breathing room. Ergo, I present to you, the highlights of this past school month.

Enjoy.

Deep in the Woods....

This weekend, my Mum, three sisters, and I got to go on a really great hike together. We don't often get to do this, so it was a nice treat. :D

Old canal on the trail
(little more than 1/2 mile long)

We braved the top!

My Mum had the genius idea of us posing at one end,
and then racing behind to get at the other.
So cool!!!

Bible History - Crafts Galore!

Okay, maybe not galore, but I couldn't think of a better way to describe it. I feel as if I'm doing more crafts, now, than I ever did in school (probably not, but it feels that way right now). And I'm loving ever second of it!!!

Last week, we read about Abraham.

The ram Abraham found in the bush

For snack
The "bundle of wood" that Issac carried
(pretzels and Twizzlers)

This week, we read about Jacob and Esau.

I'm Engaged!!!

Yep, you read that right. I'm engaged to John now. Happened tonight. And I'd no clue that it would.

There I was, blithely carameling apples with my Mum, when a knock came at the front door. Since neither Mum or I could get it, Philomena had to. Next thing I know, I'm being told I need to sign for something.
As I walk over, after handing the reigns of the caramel to Philomena, I saw a young man, wearing a trench coat, a hat covering his face.

"Oh, it's Mr. So-and-so," I thought. "No, no, that's silly....so, why's a Mormon here???"

Then John lifted his head and knelt down.

I'm embarrassed to say, my exact words were "We're doing this now?" - because I'm barefoot and making caramel apples. SO romantic (but also perfect for us).

He took it well, totally understanding, and said, with a smirk, "Yep. Will you marry me?"

I said "Yes."

My ring, which was also my Mum's ring

Naoh's Ark Project

So, this week, for Bible History, I made (from a template) a Naoh's Ark for the kids. They got animal crackers to put inside. I'm happy to say, they loved it. :D

I should have my own September picture, for my 2016 art challenge out by next week. *crosses fingers*

Crafting Joy (aka making stuff for my classes)

Ack, making titles is HARD. Seriously.

Anyhow, I've been tasked with making Bible History crafts for my 1-3 classes (I help, mainly, Wednesday and Friday with those). Last week, I did a Creation Wheel. This week, I did Cain and Abel. I make a sample (which I've posted below) and then the kids get to copy/make their own.

Should probably mention, these are all from templates. :P

We Can Do It!

So, another school year has started. I'm a teacher, full-time now. I have Kindergarten as my full class and 1st  -3rd grades, when needed.
I've gotten permission from the parents and thus you get to share my joy in my work (and not just getting random updates on my pictures....though those will still be posted).

August Art Challenge

For the month of August, Scrub and I decided to do a picture from our own fanfiction story. I couldn't get into any of mine (plus, I'd already done a LOTR picture for April), so I went with one of my favorite mangas. She did a cover for her FF story, John and Sherlock's Excellent Adventure.

Mine
Rurouni Kenshin
Kenshin (front) and Sanosuke (back)

Hers
John and Sherlock's Excellent Adventure
(Yes, it's supposed to look like 'The Little Prince')
Johnny (blond) and William (black hair)

Hope you enjoy. September will be a shout out picture to the end of summer.

Last Stretch (aka: last few days)

Lieutenant R.E. Durbin's log: Stardate 08/19

*sigh*

It's finally come, our last, full day of shore leave. It's been an exciting week. What with:

Flying in a plane
(such an antique thing, and so different from a Starship)

Spending more time on the beach

But, like all good things, it's ending.

End log. (next blog will be about my picture this month...unless something big happens)
