And So It Begins.
My plan for my blogs is to write a monthly post on a whole range of things; *checks off her list* from my writing, to movies/books I love, to rantings, to writing tips I've learned, to interesting things I've seen or done, to my artwork. I want this to be as interesting as possible for all of you. *gets out her notepad* So, if you've any suggestions or requests, send 'em my way. I love getting feedback.
Now, you can find me on about three different sites.
1) Figment.com, under the name R.E. Durbin
Link ----> http://figment.com/users/52745-R-E-Durbin
2) Archieveofourown.org, under the name Tamuril2 (yep. I'm a fanfictioner)
3) Deviantart.com, under the name Tamuril2, again (it's where my art is posted)

I hope you visit each site, and enjoy your time there. All three are sites I've grown to love dearly.
As this is really just an introduction, I won't be posting a super long blog post this time. This is just a Meet and Greet thing for today. Though...I suppose I should blog about something other than myself. *riffles through her bag of subjects* Hmmm, what to write about....I know I got something in here...Aha! *holds subject up triumphantly* I got it!
The BBC Sherlock Show.
*gushes* Okay, let's just accept the fact, I'm a huge fan of this show. Are there points I don't like all that much. Yes, but that goes for about any show or movie I watch. That aside, BBC Sherlock is such a well directed and well acted TV show. I love Mr. Martin Freeman (Bilbo, from Peter Jackson's 'Hobbit' movies) and Mr. Benedict Cumberbatch (Smaug, also from the 'Hobbit' movies). Golly, what can I even say about those two? Nothing, except they portray the characters so well. They seem to embrace all the facets of the two men (Sherlock and John, I mean) and amplify them. And, I've decided, I love Mr. Cumberbatch in curly hair. *melts*
For those of you who have not seen the series, DO! It's well worth the time. Mr. Cumberbatch plays a socially inept, and sometimes callous, yet brilliant Sherlock Holmes; while Mr. Freeman plays an in the background, but also strong Dr. Watson, who has just returned from a tour in Afghanistan. I shalln't spoil it for you new comers, as it's really a series you should go into blind. That way you can enjoy each and every surprise it throws at you.
I will tell you it's set in modern times (so cool!) and yet somehow sticks to how Sherlock seems to be portrayed in the books. I watched the show first and then was inspired to read the books. I found that they even used a few lines directly from the books in the series. How neat is that? *squees*

The only big con I might have with this show is in the second season. The first episode (A Scandal In Belgravia) introduces a character that, while intriguing and somewhat important to the plot, is very provocative. Especially in the first few minutes when she meets Sherlock. Hint (which is also a small spoiler): She's a Dominatrix. Nuff said, I think. I tell people to skip that part, as it really doesn't add to much to the series if you miss those couple of minutes.
All in all, *hearts float about* this is one of the best TV shows around, hands down. My vote? Watch it. *leans in and whispers conspiratorially* There's even a Christmas special coming out in January of next year (2016). I know, right? Just when you thought it couldn't get any better! *fangirls* They've taken a different approach and put it in the actual time period that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote it in (ie: 19th century). I, for one, am super stoked for it's coming.
And that's all she wrote, folks. *bows* Hope to see you again, same Bat time, same Bat channel.
Disclaimer: I don't own that photo of Sherlock or the Japanese bowing one. I just got them off Google, so please don't flame/sue me for them. I'm getting no profit from either (I promise).
